"In
my opinion she is perfect in every way...
...but as it stands we are not together at the moment"
Ever Fallen is a collection of real life love stories gathered from people
throughout Nottingham and told continuosly on an led sign.
"In researching a series of works on love I have interviewed many
different people and distributed an online questionnaire. I received over
200 responses from all over the world and I was intrigued by the fact
that people would so readily tell their stories to a stranger."
Exhibited as part of Blue Print, 2002 curated by You Are Here
Review:Sarah
Marshall-
In contrast to the Blueprint works that concentrate on Nottingham's
landscape, Jeanie Finlay explores the innermost feelings of the people
of Nottingham. 'Ever Fallen' displayed snippets of love stories, gathered
from Nottingham folk, on a LED display. Where as other parts of this exhibition
highlighted just how different the Nottingham experience can be, according
to where you work and live in Nottingham, this work connected the people
of Nottingham. From the stories shown it was clear that we all have experiences
of overriding passion, regret and optimism. The media chosen was relevant
in reflecting the transitory nature of love affairs.
